Her husband has a nickname he calls her regularly around the house. Nothing complex, just a shortened version of her birth name. We all have pet names we call family members and significant others. Not a big deal.

One afternoon while she was alone, working in the back yard she heard quite clearly, someone call her by her nickname. She thought it came from the woods. As she was telling me this, she told me she was going to try to imitate the voice. I asked her to let me describe the voice instead, since I had heard, and used, a “Sasquatch” voice on a few occasions. Fine she said. I did my best impression and she exclaimed “Oh my God”! There was a good fifteen seconds of silence. She was floored. I nailed it. “That’s it exactly”! OMG! Also, not a big deal. Once you have heard it, it is imbedded in your mind. Whether you have heard it in the wild, or on a recording, or however, it is not something you forget. Think Sierra Sounds if nothing else. Now she just stood there in silence, staring into the woods. Dead silent. No wind, movement, nothing. As she tried to continue her work, she couldn’t, and she went inside to recover from the shock and just think. She also told me she thought she heard it a second time, on a different day, but wasn’t sure, since it was a windy noisy day that time. She also said that if she ever thought any of the things she was hearing or seeing before the vocal event were imagined or other things, this put a lid on it. Done deal, there IS something out here!

This is a good witness and a good human. So is her family. Could she be mistaken? Possibly. Are the rest of her family mistaken? Theoretically possible but not probable. Four years ago, when they moved to the property Sasquatch events were not even remotely on the radar. Big city to rural wooded environment will do that to you, whether you have a belief system in place or not. They had no preconceived notion one way or the other. And look what happened to them. World turned upside down.

They want nothing from me. They want complete anonymity as to names being used, property address or location. Pretty much a witness protection existence. They wanted peace of mind and I hope I gave it to them. I will always give that to them. They wanted validation that they weren’t crazy. As we spoke, she slowly warmed up to me and revealed more and more once she was comfortable that I was not going to judge. I could hear both the relief and emotion in her voice as we spoke. If she was a hoaxer or yanking my chain, she needs to be in Hollywood. She is wasting her time in the back woods of Missouri. And I have seen/heard some good hoaxers.
